New Classes to Achieve Your Summer Beach Body!

Union Street Athletics’ Spring Rollout was so huge it took three days to premier three new classes. Each is designed to challenge and inspire, not to mention build muscle and burn plenty of calories.

The NEW Body Pump (classes at 8:00 am, 9:30 am & 12:00 pm)

Right from Slinkee Minx’s warm up track Way Of Life, the word for Bodypump™ 65 is BIG. Put on the BIG weights for BIG results to the biggest muscle group as Nick Skitz samples David Lee Roth for squats track to Just Like Paradise. Don’t be fooled by the name of Inaya Day’s song Breakaway because there are no breaks in the chest track. There are, however, plenty of Bottom-Halves! Bodypump™ers perfect their Clean and Press Combos while working their back, glutes and hams to Wanne Be Free by Paradise. Back-to-back no-break tracks Get Down by Groove Armada and Too Much, Too, Young, Too Fast by Airbourne work the triceps and biceps (keep a plate close for Overhead Extensions during the triceps!) The Forward & Backward-Stepping Lunge pre-fatigues participant’s legs during Michael Mind’s remastering of Manfred Mann’s Blinded By The Light – a track not to be taken lightly! The Mac Raise returns during DJ Alligator’s Shoulders/Arms track Meet Her At The Love Paradise 2007. Then Kanye West’s Stronger aims to strengthen the abs with Moving Hovers and Side Planks. RyanDan’s Like The Sun provides the stretch to complete the BIG Bodypump™ 65.

The NEW Body Combat (class at 10:45 am)

Bodycombat™ 35 kicks it up a notch from the moment it kicks of with the Dancing DJs Amazed and The Hives Tick Tick Boom. Be warned, the Scooter’s The United Vibe is the longest track of Block and Karate Punches and a Travel Roundhouse Knee Sequence ever. After The Wave’s Peace of Heaven, Bodycobmat™ers face the Roundhouse challenge and more than 100 kicks (we told you Bodycombat™ 35 kicks it up a notch!) during Group X’s Jump. Fight over Your Can’t Stop The Beat from the movie “Hairspray” and send the fists flying to Ciara and Lil Jon’s That’s Right. The Thai fighting innovation called the Clinch highlights the Foo Fighter’s cut The Pretender. Tokyo Haze’s Heaven and Good Charlotte’s motivational I Don’t Want To Be In Love number among the hit tracks before a well-deserved cool down to Alicia Key’s No One. Bodycombat™ 35 will help build strength, speed, and stamina.

The NEW RPM (classes at 8:00 am, 9:15 am & 10:30 am)

KT Tunstall launches the powerful R.P.M. ™ 38 with the warm up track Hold On, which doubles up on single leg drills. Peddlers pace themselves to Hannah Jones’ cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water. E-Type’s True Believer will challenge riders to believe in themselves at they crank the tension and take the hills. The Killer’s Read My Mind offers a recovery before Airbourne’s edgy Runnin’ Wild demands attacks and audience participation during “arrows” (It could be “Hey, Hey, Hey!” or “U-S-A” depending on your instructor!) Towel off and grab a drink of water after Tiesto’s Everything because R.P.M.’s most driving mountain track ever is next: Scooter’s Behind The Cow. Listen for the guitar riff from Blue Oyster Cult’s Don’t Fear The Reaper and the speedy surprise that Fatman Scoop mixes mid-track. Riders won’t go home without a cool down to Maroon 5’s Won’t Go Home Without You and a stretch to Glad You’re Here by Macy Gray and Fergie.
